As mentioned by the popular Xataka site, “WebXR is the new standard for making Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) accessible through the web.”

From this premise, we can get an idea of the origin and purpose of this new technology that is taking a giant step forward in this new, interesting and immersive world that the same technology has brought us.

The use and consumption of content through the web is not too common nowadays. We do it every day, whether you are a child of just over 6 years old or a senior citizen in your 60s. That is why it is not surprising that advances and improvements continue to be made in the use of this technology. Giving space for the arrival of these new technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality to the web environment.

At first, the use of an API for virtual reality technology was only considered, and in fact it worked for a while, which allowed us to see the content in this way and even interact with it in other ways, time passed, Augmented reality gained strength in other areas and in the same way it did in the web environment, thus promoting the creation of a new API called WebXR that not only integrated one of the two technologies mentioned, if not both, thus expanding the horizon for new ideas and projects.

The WebXR technology, if you visit its official documentation you will see that it is still in constant development of creation and growth to improve major shortcomings that may arise. However, in general terms, it works in a very stable way allowing its use on a large scale, only, like everything in life, you have to know the tool well, study it and apply it. Fortunately, you will find the official documentation very well explained and designed. In addition, the community is also in constant work and development to give continuous growth and support to these tools. Such is the case of “De-Panther” who, through his repository on github, has given immense support to this technology with WebXR Exporter, making it easier to use, without so many problems and updated to new versions of Unity
